‘Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring’

I’m surprised no one has asked for this hymn yet–one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written–Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, by Johann Sebastian Bach. Sung here by Celtic Woman. Most often heard around Christmas-time, this is good for every day of the year. Hard to imagine mortal, sinful human beings creating anything this beautiful: but then we are made in His image.

  1. Thank you for this. I don’t know why it has not be requested before since it is one of the greats.

  2. On second thought: These music videos and the fun animal videos are a good way of showing good things going on in this fallen world. As inspiring as this video is, can you imagine being there in person? – awesome!

    1. I think the hymns and animal videos, and Mr. Nature–and even Oy, Rodney–are kind of important. That’s why I spend so much time on them. Beauty, knowledge, and laughter are gifts of God.
