Beautiful! ‘Leaning on the Everlasting Arms’ (By Request)

Let’s face it, this hymn gets requested a lot. Well, it never fails to move me, and I guess I’m not the only one. And there are so many beautiful renditions of it! Here’s one from The Church of God, sung in high spirits. Leaning on the Everlasting Arms–you can even hear it sung by Robert Mitchum and Lillian Gish in Night of the Hunter.

By Request, ‘Victory in Jesus’

We start our day with a hymn request from SlimJim–Victory in Jesus, sung by a congregation of The Church of God. It’s a very spirited rendition! We never sang like this in the old Dutch Reformed Church…

By Request, ‘Leaning on the Everlasting Arms’

Yes, I know, I just posted this same hymn a week or two ago. But Erlene asked for it, it’s one of my favorites, and I don’t need much prodding to bring it back.

Leaning on the Everlasting Arms, sung by the choir and congregation at the Church of God–very easy to recognize their distinctive style.

And I have gotten through my list of hymn requests without skipping one! So we’re ready for some more.

‘To God Be the Glory’

This was the first hymn that popped into my head today, so this is the first hymn I’m posting–To God Be the Glory, sung by the choir and congregation at The Church of God. I hope you like the way they sing it.

By Request, ‘Leaning on the Everlasting Arms’

Requested by Erlene: here’s a rousing rendition of a beloved old hymn, Leaning on the Everlasting Arms, by the choir and congregation of the Church of God. Turn up the volume and sing along–make a joyful noise unto the Lord.

‘He Hideth My Soul’

A classic hymn by Fanny Crosby, sung by the choir and congregation at The Church of God–He Hideth My Soul. With lyrics so you can sing along. This is a hymn that often comes to me.

‘Yield Not to Temptation’

An old Sunday school favorite, Yield Not to Temptation–written by Horatio Palmer in 1868, performed here by the choir and congregation at The Church of God. It’s their usual high-spirited rendition.

‘What a Friend We Have in Jesus’ (Church of God)

What a Friend We Have in Jesus–sometimes I whistle it as I walk along, and sometimes someone else will pause in whatever he’s doing, look up, and smile. There’s hope for us yet.

Turn up the volume and sing along.

Hymn, ‘Yield Not to Temptation’

Yield Not to Temptation is one of my favorite hymns. I heard it in an old movie the other day and it’s still with me. Here it’s sung a capella by the choir at the Church of God. This bunch can really sing!

As usual the youtube page for this hymn featured an f-bomb laden comment by some atheist. I guess we ought to pray for these lost souls who reject salvation. But it’s hard to make such prayers.
