We have a wild rabbit who hangs out with us. Sometimes when we’re sitting in our lawn chairs, the bunny sits with us, nibbling the grass. One of the neighbors provides her (or him–we can’t tell) with sunflower seeds. Often if you whistle to the bunny, she’ll come bouncing across the yard to get closer to you.
Most years, we get baby bunnies. Once there were a couple of them frolicking in Patty’s garden. Another time I was standing in the parking lot and a few of the babies chased each other around and around me where I stood. Eventually the babies move away, but the big bunny stays.
All right, so I sound sappy–so what? We love these little beggars. They are a testimony that God’s stuff still works, even if man’s stuff doesn’t. The bunnies, the woodpeckers, the doves, and the squirrels around here just go about their business, even as our civilization’s business melts into a corrupted mess.
We have our Lord’s promise that eventually He will put everything to rights, regenerate His whole creation. The date for that is already marked on His calendar. He will not fail to do it. Amen!
Amen and amen. He will certainly not fail in anything He has said. The whole creation groans until the time of His return.
I pray that day will come very soon!

Well, we’re certainly tired of watching the bad guys run up the score, aren’t we?
Awww, so cute 😀 My sister once found a wild bunny that had it’s leg hurt. She took care of it and it grew bigger and was really healthy until it got away one day. Of course, the two perfectly healthy little bunnies we had a few years before that, and the healthy baby bird, died. How does that work?
I asked my vet about baby bunnies, and she said they’re just about impossible for humans to care for successfully. And wild rabbits have some very odd ideas about parenting–for instance, scoop a very shallow hole in the middle of the lawn and just dump the babies there. Baby wild birds are hard to keep alive, too. Again, the vet can do it, but most of us can’t. Under many circumstances, though, there’s no harm in trying.

I’m glad ours is a big bunny, because there are two hawks who come around pretty often, too. They eat doves and squirrels. And this is in the suburbs!
