What Beliefs Will We Be Allowed to Have?

Conference organizers concealed the identities of the participants, according to The Telegraph.

While the world was looking elsewhere, a bunch of top judges and lawyers from all over the world got together in London, in a conference funded by (who else?) the U.N., to try figure out a way to make it against the law not to believe in Global Warming ( http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/11924776/QC-calls-for-ruling-to-scotch-claims-that-challenge-consensus-on-global-warming.html ).

Well, actually, what they want to do is somehow to translate the “settled science,” the “scientific consensus,” the “97% of scientists believe that Colgate is an effective decay-preventive dentifrice” ** Oops! got carried away, should be “97% of scientists believe in Global Warming so that makes it true”–all this, they wish to translate into law. “Facts” are to be made laws; and presumably it would then become a criminal offense to dispute the “facts.”

Only liberals have so little confidence in their own opinions that they always seek to have them put over by force. They can’t convince us that their “Climate Change” is anything other than a big, fat scam, so they want to shut us up.

Is this how honest men behave?

Is this how science is to proceed from now on? Whoever has the most force at his disposal, wins the debate–or, better yet, just shuts down the debate?

This trail has been blazed by the “gay marriage” pioneers. Don’t like it? Don’t want to take part in a same-sex “wedding”? Okay–we’ll ruin you financially, turn you and your whole family into public enemies, destroy your livelihood. We don’t bother to try to win the argument! We just crush the opposition.

Hey, folks–enjoy your opinions while you’re still allowed to have ’em.

  1. To be honest, this is how it’s always been. Benevolent governments who work in the best interests of the people have been few in number and short-lived. Those in power do whatever they can to get their way. It’s just in human nature to try to control other people.

    1. Yup, it’s a fallen world, all right, and freedom can only exist under God. Our country’s founders knew that. Today’s leaders want to be gods, a position for which they are notoriously unqualified.

  2. I see it as a trade-off. People wishing to evade personal responsibility prefer a government which “protects” their irresponsible ways and in return, that government expects absolute support on key issues. The government places few moral restrictions on its citizens and to the truly immoral, this is heralded as open-mindedness, so they will give that same government sweeping powers with regard to other areas of life. If you choose another path, you are shouted down as being racist, homophobic (a made-up word) or a climate denier. In the meantime, the moral decay advances from bad to worse.

  3. With people openly declaring their worship of satan, how can we expect any sanity? He is temporary “god of this world” and he is playing it for all it is worth. I once went outside to tell a group of young teens to quiet down at the hour of 4AM since there were people sleeping. The oldest boy stepped up and said, “I worship satan, and I do as I please” I told them to get away from our place in Jesus’ name, and they moved on, but I thought, what a horrible thing to be happening to so young a group of kids in this small town. This is what we are up against, and we need much prayer and submission to the one true God.

    1. Well, libs teach us that there’s no such thing as common courtesy. They certainly have succeeded in making it hard to find.

    2. As I see it, the whole thing comes down to serving the One True God or serving Satan, either directly, as a Satanist, or indirectly by worshipping some false god. The issue is becoming ever more clear with the passage of time.

    3. Some of them can’t make up their minds about anything. I’ve actually heard people say they are Satanists but don’t believe there’s a real Satan. Moronic. Praise God, for He will have the last word!

  4. I’ve often wondered at the people I’ve met who claim to believe in Satan but who don’t believe in God and call the Bible account of Creation a mere myth. So if there’s no God Who created the universe, where did Satan come from?

  5. The whole idea of Climate Change is moronic – the climate is always changing. Global warming bringing cataclysmic events in 50 years is based on faith. Scientists couldn’t even predict Hurricane Harvey two days before it formed.
