Return with me, if your stomachs can stand it, to those balmy days of Bill Clinton’s presidency.
There were two main lines of defense keeping this churl in office. One was “It’s the economy, stupid.” But the other really got to me: this idea that Clinton needn’t be blamed for his sexploits in the White House because–speaking of adultery–“Everybody does it.”
So there I was at the YMCA, and I challenged a whole locker-room full of men who were invoking this defense of Clinton. “All right, let’s just see about this! There are twenty of you here, and I don’t know your names, so I can’t possibly rat you out. Thus you have nothing to lose by giving me an honest answer. How many of you have actually committed adultery?”
And one hand went up. Just one. “So everybody doesn’t do it, then, do they?”
It goes to show how a reprobate for a leader can undermine the moral tone of an entire nation.
What’s wrong with us, that anyone would even consider putting Hillary Clinton in the White House? She’s so crooked that when she dies, they’re going to have to screw her into the ground. How many other presidential candidates have been the subject of two–yes, not one, but two–ongoing FBI investigations in the middle of the campaign?
Have we really and truly sunk so low?

I don’t like acting like a liberal and wishing death on persons whose public acts and politics I detest, so I will hold out for a change of heart and a public repentance. Or, failing that, jail.
When I pray for our nation, I do pray for our leaders to truly repent. But in her case, I wonder if the demons that appear to be assisting her will actually allow her to wind up in jail. And, by the way, as soon as I hit ‘post comment’ on my previous comment, I immediately had to repent.
We all gotta repent sometimes!
Evil is so rampant these days, that it’s sometimes difficult to keep the Mind of Christ. Thankfully, He knows that and has provided us with repentance and grace. Praise God!
It’s funny how your circumstances set your perception of reality. A company that I used to work at, for a very long time, had a morally corrupt upper management – celebrating large contract with hookers and other such non-sense. Working there, I got the perception that everyone at that level did that – after all, they seemed to attract that type.
Now, I work for a very family orientated and openly faithful company. What a difference! Trust, understanding, caring and faithfulness and unspoken truths. My soul feels so much better, but I also see that not every “is doing it”.
I pray daily for our nation to heal itself, but honestly, with the front-runners in the two major parties likely to square off in November, This country has more bad times ahead, morally and finically before things can get better.

This is a good post. I can’t imagine how our country will fare if Hillary gets the presidency. Bill Clinton was more than I could stand and in my opinion, his wife is worse. His “closet” was full of used and bruised women; hers is full of darker stuff that she’s bound and determined to keep behind closed doors and I truly fear for our nation should she becomes our next president.
