Man Marries Tree (not a satire, folks)

Thanks to my chess buddy, Ohio Chess Fan, for alerting me to this priceless gem of news.

What do you get when you turn from the real God and worship things that are no gods?

You get this: some Peruvian nimrod of an “actor and activist” going up to Mexico to “marry” a tree–yes, I said a tree–in some kind of “Inca ceremony” ( http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/nlifestyle/2016/05/10/environmentalist-weds-1000-year-old-tule-tree-in-south-mexico/?icid=maing-grid7|main5|dl7|sec3_lnk3%26pLid%3D-1296361174_htmlws-main-nb ). Not that there ever were any Incas in Mexico.

He reckons this’ll make people stop cutting down the world’s forests. Well, duh–who doesn’t want that? D’you think I like having my whole county paved over?

But the orcs that are doing it are not going to stop because they’ve seen some dingbat get married to a tree. Like, “Ooh, we can’t pave over any more woodlands, ’cause the tree you go after with your chain saw might be somebody’s wife or husband!”

An Inca ceremony, eh? Why don’t they bring back some more of those charming pre-Columbian religious practices–human sacrifice and all that? The Incas were famous for carting little children up to the tippy-tops of very high mountains and leaving them there to starve and freeze to death, as an offering to some pagan devil.

I have done my share of cursing at developers who saw down woods and steamroll farms so they can put up yet another strip mall. They won’t care if a thousand “activists” get married to trees, Boston ferns, or patches of kudzu.

If you’ve ever wondered whether more and more people in this fallen world are getting stupider and stupider… well, I think you can stop wondering.

  1. I heard a similar story a couple of years ago. I think it was a woman in that case. If it’s the right kind of tree – fruit bearing, maybe they’ll make fruitcake. When will idiocy and stupidity cease? We have no hope of that until Our Lord returns. Come, Lord Jesus!

  2. Hey Lee , I agree with all your comments about Incas and nitwits and devils, but I’m not seeing the the big deforestation problem. I’m sure that in suburban New Jersey forests aren’t all that common anymore. I’m not sure how well traveled you are but I can assure you that in the southeast anyway, we are way ahead on trees. Do google maps with the satellite view and see how much forest covers WV ,Ky, TN, Ga, NC, even Florida has stretches of highway where there are endless rows of paper pulp pines!
Most of those nature loving tree wedding ding dongs would be the first to vote for a Macdonalds if they were stuck living in a steamy snake and bug infested jungle! They think nature is all fuzzy grizzly Adams lovey dovey instead of tooth and claw grizzly meal! LOL Keep cool there Lee. The next time they pave over some woods in your town just remember this, here in West Virginia we just reclaimed another strip mine and planted 2000 more trees! Coal keeps the lights on!

    1. You wouldn’t believe what they’ve done to this town and county, where I’ve lived all my life. And they keep on doing it, too. All under Democrat government, of course–prate on and on about Saving the Planet and Going Green, all the while wrecking everything–woods, farms, ponds, little villages: you name it, they’ll tear it down and put up condos.

  3. I was reading in I Corinthians 8 this morning with the problem of Christians eating meat sacrificed to demons. Yes, nothing new under the sun.

The second law of thermodynamics also applies to the human genetic code system – over time it has more and more negative mutations. When you think how much young people in early America knew in the way of Latin, Greek, and literature compared to young people today, that might explain how people today overall are more stupid than in the past (just something to consider).
