Sanity Break: Two Cats Having a Discussion

The owner of these two cats says they generally communicate by fighting; but in this video, she caught them having a conversation together.

What are they talking about? I don’t know, but they make more sense than that interview with the Bernie Sanders supporter.

My two cats fight all the time and never talk to one another. Maybe the two in the video had one of those conflict resolution courses. But no–they didn’t act bored enough, nor was their conversation stilted enough for that.

If you can interpret what they’re saying, please let the rest of us know.

  1. They were having a sweet conversation. The soft, stuttery rolling sound is comforting to them. Mamas talk like that to their kittens. Notice that they snuggled and primped each other at the end of the conversation. I certainly don’t know what they said, but that’s the gist of what it meant 🙂

  2. the two cats in conversation: one is saying to the other, “I’m glad you are my friend, the other answers, yeah? well, good, I kinda like you, too.
First cat: do you think we will be getting salmon for dinner? second cat,
Hope so, remember, we have to share. First cat, sure, let me wash your face and get ready.
I once had two Siamese who talked to each other. They would conspire to attack the golden tiger cat, one would lure him off the couch, and the other would jump out and attack. Once when neighbor’s dog attacked the smaller cat, he came in the house, spoke to the other one, and the two went outside and together, attacked the dog and made him yelp and run home. Then the two cats, dusted off their paws, and laughed together.

    1. That’s hilarious! 🙂 I’d love to have a Siamese again. They have such strong personalities, and they do tend to talk.

  3. Love this video, btw. My 6yr old daughter (who is convinced she understands what animals are saying) says they’re obviously talking about food.
