The Red Pope is at it again. Now, he says, new Roman Catholic priests are to be instructed to preach that “Climate Change”–called Global Warming when it isn’t snowing–is “real” and “caused by human activity.” After all, the Pontifical Academy of Sciences says so ( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4020344/New-Catholic-priests-learn-climate-change-studies-drive-church-cut-global-warming.html ).
That deserves a raspberry.
Confession ought to be a trip, from now on. “I have sinned… I used half a dozen pieces of toilet paper in one trip to the loo.” Why does this enterprise remind me of Starbuck’s abortive scheme, not too long ago, to nag customers about “racism” when they bought a cup of coffee?
Mr. Pope–when you and your globalist buddies start acting like you believe in man-made Climate Change, and give up your private jets and mansions in order to Save The Planet, then maybe some of us will believe it, too. For the time being, it still looks like just another way to grow the government.
Yes, I agree, the church hierarchy needs to look to themselves for their “contributions” to the notion of global warming being man-made. It’s true that we are to take care of the earth as stewards of the gifts of God and I try to do that with recycling – thinking first, “can this be recycled,” before throwing something in the trashcan. Many factors contribute to global warming if it is true indeed and I don’t think it all just comes from mankind living on the planet. God has created our earth to be self-healing in so many ways. Regulations coming from the pulpit is a bit much.
What I find amazing is that there is no scriptural basis for this, just a pope that seems given to following whatever whims strike him.
Get your science information straight, Lee Duigon! Man’s burning of fossil fuels, which are in peak supply anyhow, and should have been exhausted a century ago, is slowing the speed of rotation of the universe around the earth causing global fever. If it isn’t stopped, the only people to survive will be Sherpas and others living in the Himalyans, Andes, and Alps because of rising sea levels. So wake up, get smart before you fall off the edge of the earth!
