International Women’s Day in Argentina–a band of feminists set up outside a Roman Catholic church and perform a mock abortion on the Virgin Mary, bloodily murdering the Savior of the world. That was the show they chose to put on, maybe thinking it would win hearts and minds to their cause. The abortion performers wore the now-famous “pink pussy” hats. The feminist playing Mary wore blue. And that’s as far as I want to describe this disgusting scene.
Could their message be any clearer?
God’s message is the same He wrote on the King of Babylon’s wall: Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin. “God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it… Thou art weighed in the balances, and found wanting…” (Daniel 5:26-27)
Once upon a time, the claims of feminism were reasonable and just. That time has passed. I confess I don’t know what the hell they want, anymore. And I have used the h-word on purpose, because that’s where this stuff comes from and that’s where it’s going.
It’s repulsive. However, the more pervasive these become and the closer together such events occur, the more I feel in my bones that we are getting closer and closer to the end of the age and Jesus Christ’s return. The tunnel is getting shorter and the light is getting brighter. Maranatha.

Lee, I think your comment that “I don’t know what the hell they want” contains its own answer. They think they want hell, because the way their entertainers portray hell and the devil makes them think hell will be fun. They need our prayers.
I guess their sentiments are pretty clear. They would abort the savior of the world. Unbelievable! 🙁
I will certainly not be looking this up–the idea is sickening enough without the visuals. These women obviously have no concept of what it would have meant to abort Jesus. That’s humanity’s eternal salvation they want to take away from us…and for what? To prove a point that Mary (and women by extension) was somehow used and violated by God? Or the Church? Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face. Not that God would have allowed such a thing to happen. Mary herself would have been horrified by the thought; she was completely willing and humbled by the privilege of bringing the Messiah into the world. Phoebe commented that what these modern feminists really want is hell–she’s probably right about that. I’m sure Satan already has a special place there just waiting for them. But I doubt it will be quite what they expected when they get there. We do indeed need to pray for them, and for those they are trying to lead astray.
I must confess I find it hard to pray for people who hate the Person I love and would, if they could, take Him away from me. This is a failing in me, I know; but it would feel to me like I was taking away valuable prayer-time and casting pearls before swine.
I find it difficult as well. I really get Jonah some days–sulking that God wanted to save the horrible people of Nineveh instead of burning them up with the righteous fire they deserved. Then I sheepishly acknowledge that we all deserve it equally, and I’m grateful for God’s restraint.
I try to remember that by praying for these people, they could still be changed before it is too late. It does more good for us as Christians to have people standing with us than against us. And sometimes those who are seemingly so entrenched on the opposing path, once bumped back onto the straight and narrow, make amazing, outspoken advocates for Christ. Think of where Christianity would be without Paul? I’m sure there were many early Christians who had no desire to pray for him–he terrified them. Now I’m under no delusion that most of these wackos will see the error of their ways and come back to the light. Maybe a few will–that would be an amazing victory. But even if praying for them doesn’t change who they are, the heart and discipline it takes certainly changes us for the better.
Point taken. Sometimes God likes us to do hard things.
Don’t be too hard on yourself Lee, their behavior is outrageous and designed to demoralize others. The everlasting fate of these persons is in the hands of the most impartial and loving adjudicator but also an adjudicator that will serve the cause of true justice.

That’s disgusting. There are mainstream churches that seem to have forgotten completely that they claim to represent God’s word, as teachers and shepherds.
There is an interesting analog, however. Violence committed in the name of Islam is causing some to reject that faith. I suspect that some in the churches are likewise becoming disillusioned with the corruption prominent in some of the churches. When he messiah arrives there will be plenty of people ready to follow the lead of our Savior.
People are fleeing those mainstream churches in droves. Check out the PCUSA’s membership numbers. And of course they respond to this challenge by going even farther to the left.
The “unaffiliated”, so dear to the rhetoric of libs and humanists, include very many Christians who gave up on their respective churches because those churches gave up on Christ.
