Hamsters a la Carte

Some people think hamsters don’t do anything but sleep, fight with each other, and run on wheels. This video will prove them wrong.

Hamsters do a lot of different things. One of them, I hope, is to attract visitors to this blog today. We shall see.

  1. I had hamsters from the late eighties, throughout the nineties. I found them to be endearing pets and almost infinitely appealing. Only a loving God could make something so cute, although Joe Collidge might argue against that. 🙂

The “bang, your dead” trick is one I’ve seen with a movie orangutan (Clint Eastwood’s Every Which Way But Loose) and my dog, but never before with a hamster. Isn’t it amazing that non-verbal creatures can comprehend enough to even play along with our jokes? For a tiny little rodent, that is quite an accomplishment.

Your blog is a blessing, Lee. It lifts me up.

    1. I feel like I’d really enjoy having a pet hamster, but I’m not sure how the cats would take it. They’re already too jealous of each other.

And thank you for that last comment–we aims t’please.

  2. One of the reasons I don’t have a hamster currently is the presence of a very effective feline hunter within my home. Even of she never succeeded, I would imagine that the sight of a cat outside its cage would put stress on the tiny little heart of any hamster. 🙂

I meant every word, Lee. This is a refuge from the madness around us.

  3. I agree with UnKnowable, we have a refuge here on your blog where we
can interact with you and one another, and enjoy your hymns, worship songs, and last but not least, the wonderful animal videos.

  4. Awwwww. I love the one with the carrot. I had a cat some years ago who once ran off with a whole corn on the cob. I have no idea what he thought he was going to do with it. He also once tried to run off with an entire eye round roast, but I did know what he thought he was going to do with that.

And I agree with Erlene and UnKnowable, that this blog is a real refuge and uplift. I’ve been wondering, though … where and how may we post hymn requests? I’d love to hear “(That’s Why) My Heart Is Filled With Praise” again, but I haven’t known how to ask, and my attempt to search through past posts didn’t yield anything — well, didn’t yield what I was trying to find, anyway.

    Thank you and bless you.

    1. How do you make a hymn request? Well, you just did! Just include it in any comment to this blog, and I’ll do the rest.

In case I haven’t said so before, it’s very gratifying to me–Erlene, Unknowable, Phoebe–the nice things you’re saying about this blog. We have all worked together, under God’s blessing, to make it what it is.
