The Start of a Beautiful Friendship

Animals can form unlikely friendships–my iguana used to have a Three Musketeers thing going with a schnauzer and a big black cat, all cuddled up together in bed on a winter’s day–but this nice parrot is finding out that it can take some doing. At this point, the inexperienced kitten is afraid of him. Someone should’ve taught the parrot to say “Nice kitty!” But I’m sure it’ll all work out by and by. As long as they’re not asked to share the same food dish.

  1. That was pretty cute. The little kitten just had no idea of what that bird was, not to mention its capabilities. The bird was obviously not too worried about the kitten.

As long as animals are well fed, they can be remarkably cooperative between species. I’ve always thought that birds and cats were quite incompatible, but YouTube has proven me wrong.

  2. Too cute. guess what! my son gave me a cat for my birthday today. He had to go to the town 35 miles away and bring the cat. He is a 15 lb. neutered gray tiger cat. I am so happy. Now if we can get the dog in the house to stop barking at him.

    1. That’s great, Erlene. Congratulations!

I’ve had several gray tigers in my day and think they are especially beautiful cats.

    1. Most cats are a little unsure when in new surroundings, but after a week or so they usually conclude that they own the place. 🙂

  3. Happy Birthday and God Bless you, Erlene! What a wonderful gift and what a good son 🙂

  4. Happy birthday, Erlene — and what a wonderful, loving birthday present. A cat is a gift that keeps on giving. And taking. We are the cat’s servants, you know. 🙂
