Prayer Request: Ruth

Ruth, 97, is the mother-in-law of our friend and sister, Marge; and Ralph is Marge’s husband. Ruth is in hospice now, she is passing away. This family needs our prayers.

O Lord our God, ease and comfort your daughter, Ruth, who, after a long life, is preparing to come home to you; and ease the burden of her son, Ralph, and give him strength and peace, as he takes care of necessary things. And be with your servant, Marge, and all her family, to comfort them. In Jesus’ name, amen.

  2. Our Abba, thank you for the long life which You bestowed on this precious one, and than You for the home she will be entering. Comfort, now, the ones who are left behind and grant them shalom for the days ahead, in Jesus’ name, amen.

  3. May the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ hold Ruth gently and lovingly as she goes to be with Him eternally. And Lord, give consolation and peace to Ralph and his family. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  4. Thank you all so much. I just came home from the hospice for a little while to make a meal for Ralph. He’ll be coming in shortly, eat supper, and then go back. One of nurses there said that the end is very soon for her.

  5. Marge, I join in all the prayers lifting you and your family up at this time, and you will all remain in my prayers – in Jesus’ Most Precious Name.

    1. Praise God. He is faithful and has gladly welcomed Ruth home. May He keep you and your family in His hand and The Comforter give you strength in the days to come.

    2. Marge, God knows it hurts us when we lose our loved ones. We pay tribute to them with our tears. But we do believe, as Paul told us, that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord ( in 2 Corinthians): so these are tears of tribute, and never mean a loss of hope. We shall all be reunited in Christ’s Kingdom: and it will be joy indescribable when we are.
Just now, Ruth is experiencing that joy.

  6. Marge, I pray your grief will pass in good time, as all things do, knowing Ruth is now with God – I mean really with Him, girl! God bless her. And for you and your family who miss her, the sun WILL come out tomorrow. God bless you and the Hofknecht family.
