U.N. Warns U.S.: Don’t Repeal Obamacare

Just another day of food riots in Venezuela. BYO toilet paper–if you can find any.

Some people have no sense of the absurd. In fact, they have no sense of the monstrously absurd. And a lot of ’em work for the United Nations.

The United Nations High Commission on Human Rights (LOL) has “warned” our country that it would be a violation of international law if we repealed Obamacare and didn’t replace it with legislation they deemed acceptable ( https://fellowshipoftheminds.com/2017/04/27/un-warned-trump-that-obamacare-repeal-could-violate-international-law/). Specifically, says the UN, it would violate “the right to social security of the people of the United States.”

Are they kidding? Are they on drugs?

The membership of this commission includes such bastions of human rights as Cuba, China, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela. Hmm… Think there might be some teensy-weensy little human rights violations somewhere amid that bunch? Try being a woman in Saudi Arabia. Try buying toilet paper in Venezuela. Try setting up an opposition political party in Cuba or China.

President Trump is expected to ignore the United Nations’ “warning.” It would be a good thing if he went farther than that: withdraw our funding of that hypocrites’ club, for starters.

Every tax dollar that goes to the U.N. is a slap in the face to the Americans who worked to earn those dollars.

  1. You may be on to something, Lee. Many of them may be on drugs.

Btw, did you happen to see the article link I left late last night?

    1. Yes, I did: thanks for posting it. I never know what to say about a situation as heart-breaking as that. May God bless this man and wife and speedily deliver them out from under the shadow of death.

  2. Thankfully we are not beholden to the United Nations, if anything they are beholden to us since we foot their bill by and large. However, this does highlight the dangers of surrendering our sovereignty to a foreign entity.

  3. Perhaps the US will end its funding and the UN can slink off into obscurity. They have no true authority, as far as I can tell.

I find it telling that when they had troops in the Sinai to prevent war between Egypt and Israel, Gamal Nassar told them to leave and they did so obediently, allowing Egypt to arm the Sinai, the very thing they were there to prevent.
