Bill Nye the Gender Guy

Nobody does more than Bill Nye “the Science Guy” to foster the notion that science is crap.

When he’s not campaigning for people who don’t believe his Global Warming schtick to be thrown in jail, the former PBS kids’ TV star–ooh! he has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering!–is carrying water, now, for the transgender delusion. On his new Netflix show, Bill Nye Saves the World, this guy with a bachelor’s degree said there ain’t just two genders, male and female, but gender is “more like a kaleidoscope” (http://libertyviral.com/bill-nye-gender-ideology-guy/). Dig it–“the gender kaleidoscope.” Someone is sure to parley that into a federal grant.

By the way…”saves the world” from what? Nye says abortion is good. Maybe he saves the world from babies.

In 1996, on his PBS show, Nye said “gender” was determined by chromosomes. XX chromosome=female. XY chromosome=male. No kaleidoscope. His recent remarks would appear to conflict with his former observations.

The alleged fact-checker, Snopes.com, rushed to defend him from the charge of being against the gender spectrum before he was for it. “His understanding is evolving” [extra credit for saying it “evolves”!]. And, “Nye’s understanding of sex and gender, as well as the world’s, has grown since then.” Now you know why I don’t pay a lot of attention to Snopes.

Nye says, “We have to listen to science. And the science says we’re all on a spectrum.”

“Science says.” It’s just like “Simon says.” We offer a brief translation: “I am the smartest person here, so what I say, goes for everybody. The rest of you, shut up!”

Yup. It’s crap.

    1. What can we say? Big-time, talkin-head Science has turned into crap. As a means of searching out the truths of nature, it’s worth nothing anymore: they study their own computer models.

As I’m sure I’ve mentioned in a review of “Scientific Mythologies” by James Herrick, “science” and science fiction have been merging in recent years. You should be able to find it in the archives.

    2. We seem to be living in an ‘e-mergent’ society. Your NWV article this morning was a great example of this new (and dangerous) trend.

The indoctrinated up-and-comers believe science is fact. The thing I notice most about science is their frantic insistence to disprove God and His Word – sometimes subtly but other times it’s extremely blatant. Woe to those who call good evil and evil good . . .

  1. I’ve noticed that there are a number of celebrity scientists these days that seem to have perfected the science of publicity, always to their own benefit. Bill Nye is an obvious example, Neil DeGrasse Tyson als seems to have become infatuated with his own press releases. Both have intimated that we need them, in order to save humanity, save the planet and avoid all sorts of terrible things which they are more than willing to remind us that we are not fully capable of comprehending.

And you know what? They’re right! I’m a fool by the standards of this world.

1 Corinthians 1:26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. 30 And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31 so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

This world is in big trouble. While Nye and DeGrasse Tyson see ecological collapse just over the horizon, I see societal collapse happening all around me. I see record levels of debt, the near obsolescence of the family and despair growing by the moment. I see threat of imminent nuclear war in the news and the nation of Syria has all but ceased to exist. If the wisdom of this world has produced these situations, then I am thrilled to be a fool by the standards of this world.

Philipians 3:8 More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,

Those words were written by Paul, a man of education and brimming with worldly wisdom, before his conversion. He became a tent maker, but he is far more remembered as an apostle of Lord Jesus than for his former role as a teacher of the law.

Once my practical needs are met, what else is there? Prominence, fame, jarring press releases? It is all rubbish! Nye can try to save this wicked, fallen world while denying his Creator and looking down his nose at the rest of us, but in the larger scheme of things he will not even be a footnote.

    1. That is an amazing story. We know that we can be forgiven, but that’s really an incomplete explanation. 1 John 1:7 tells us: “7but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

We can be cleansed in the blood of the Christ. This is something especially important for people that have fallen into defilement at some point in their lives. They can walk away from the burden sin has imposed.
