What’s With Your Comments?

Look, all I know about computer **** is that it happens at bedtime and I don’t know why it happens.

I was wondering where all the comments went tonight; then, as I was brushing my teeth, my wife discovered they were all “pending.” So she clicked “approve,” and they all seem to have disappeared. I never got a chance to see them. By “pending,” I guess WordPress means I should go pick oakum, for all the good anything I do is going to do me.

So, dear readers, if you’re wondering where your comments went, I’m wondering, too. I can only hope tomorrow will be a better day.

What am I saying? It already is tomorrow.

I hope I don’t dream about computers tonight.

  1. TESTING 1…2…3

I thought the site owner controlled moderation? So “approve” means “delete” in wordpressspeak and “pending” tells you to click “approve.” It would be funny if it weren’t so…microsoft?

  2. A couple days ago a comment I made and your reply showed up in my email notifications for ‘new comments’ but neither one was posted on your blog. I assumed you preferred not to publish it, which I suppose could be the case anyway and this is merely a coincidence.

    1. You can be sure that if your comment didn’t appear, it wasn’t my doing. WordPress has been driving me crazy lately, holding back comments for no reason I can discover. I can’t think of anything you might have said that I wouldn’t publish.

You **know** I don’t know how this computer stuff is supposed to work.

    2. I’m with you there, Lee. I barely get by. I’m not sure I could handle your end of this, All I have to do is type my comment and click ‘post comment’ 🙂 If it’s any consolation, I’m aware of several other people having issues with WordPress, and one actually had to find an alternative, which evidently isn’t satisfactory either. Computers and confusion seem to go together.
