I’ve come to the conclusion that cats have very complex thoughts, they’re extremely lovable, and practically anything can substitute for a toy 🙂
I’m of a similar opinion to Linda. They obviously have a lot going on upstairs, some is not comprehensible to humans, but probably logical to a cat. They are driven by the instincts of a predator and undoubtedly very perceptive. Beyond that, they live in a world where humans do things that are incomprehensible to a cat and they must compensate for our limitations and inadequacy. 🙂
