This just in: the suspect in this morning’s shooting attack on Republican Congressmen has died in the hospital after being shot by Capitol Police (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/14/us/politics/virginia-shooting-suspect-james-hodgkinson.html).
According to The New York Times, this nut was “distraught” over the election of Donald Trump as president and “deeply connected to liberal politics.” Ya think?
Let’s see, now… What can be expected to happen when a whole national political party devotes every waking moment to denouncing a president, wildly claiming that his policies will bring about the end of the world, urging every American to “join #The Resistance,” glorifying rioters on college campuses, and exhorting foreign intelligence agencies to engineer a coup against the president? What do you suppose day after day after day of this will bring about?
Judging only by what they say and do, Democrats simply don’t care what damage they do to our country as long as they can destroy Donald Trump’s presidency. They don’t care who it hurts. They proceed with what law courts call a reckless disregard for the truth.
Something like this incident today was bound to happen. Anyone could have foreseen it.
Are liberals satisfied now–or do they demand more bloodshed?
Their subsequent behavior will answer that question.
I don’t expect a righteous answer.
Bernie Sanders has wasted no time disavowing this guy, that’s for certain.
This is really upsetting to me. For the most part, the US has been spared from such intrigue, although given the tone of the rhetoric, I can’t say that I’m surprised to see such a thing happen; I’m highly disappointed, but not surprised a bit.
I’d say more, but I’m literally sick inside to see what has become of the US.
Liberals are quite provably insane. This morning’s attack is just the latest in a long line of ill-advised moves. Kathy Griffin’s ISIS style photo shoot is but one example. Just listen to the rants of Maxine Waters or the nonsensical ramblings of Nancy Pelosi. I believe you’re quite right not to expect a righteous answer from the loony left.
And then, of course, there’s also the Shakespeare-in-the-Park “Julius Caesar” with its graphic stabbing to death of an actor dressed up to look like President Trump.
But what the left media will concentrate on is banning guns — despite the fact that the Capitol Police unit’s guns saved the lives of the leftist’s targets, and if the Congressmen had been armed, the leftist would have been stopped a lot faster.
Come to think of it, on the basis of the Kathy Griffin debacle and the stage Trump-Slaying in the Park, maybe they should demand a ban on knives instead. Funny, though, that all the weapons lately — guns, knives, vehicles, bats, clubs, lead pipes, etc. — have been in the hands of leftists, and yet the leftists keep crying that they’re victims of hate and in fear of their lives.
