It Isn’t Nice to Scare Your Mama

I won’t tell you some of the tricks I used to play on my mother. But here’s a kitten who’s decided it would be fun to give his mommycat a good scare. Who says cats don’t have a sense of humor? We will also see rough justice tempered with love. Just another day in the life of a cat family.

  1. One of my cats when I was a young girl used to hide up on a ledge and pounce down on my mom’s head when she was carrying a basket full of laundry from the basement 🙂

This mama cat is a very sweet, loving mom.

  2. I hate being startled and scared now that I’m old and nerves are shot. wish I had the aplomb of this cat haha

    1. You’re so right, Erlene. I’ve noticed that I’m a bit more easily startled these days 🙂

    1. After she reached a certain age, I stopped playing tricks on my mother. You wouldn’t believe the prank I pulled with a hair rat.

I do jump–as in feet leave the ground–at sudden loud noises.

    2. We were usually at the other end of the pranks as children. Once, when we were very young – I was maybe 5 – after we all went to sleep, my dad got little pencil erasers shaped like feet, dipped them in fluorescent paint and ‘walked’ up the walls and across the ceiling. When we woke up in the morning we were so excited to find that fairies had been in our house 🙂

    3. Along with the usual aches and pains, Erlene. I remember thinking ‘what is she talking about?’ when I would hear my gramma saying how everything ached. Now I wish I hadn’t asked 🙂

  3. I just watched this three times! I love the washing bit at the end – and the refusal of the mama cat to be distracted by the “helpful” sibling. I also wish we could see more of the toy that mama cat began to play with before kitten intervened. I wonder whether my cat would like a toy like that?

And boyoboy do I know what everyone is talking about in regard to Old Folks Aches And Pains.
