Celebrating this year’s 4th of July from Indonesia, the former occupier of the White House has warned Americans–I was about to say “his fellow Americans”: what was I thinking?–not to indulge in too much patriotism (http://www.theamericanmirror.com/obama-warns-americans-much-patriotism-july-4th-weekend/).
I think we can safely say that there is not a single Democrat on the planet who is at risk for that.
Ex-President *Batteries Not Included–did I mention he’s hanging out in Indonesia?–equated patriotism with “an aggressive kind of nationalism” featuring “increased resentment of minority groups,” and “seeking to restrain the freedom of the press,” plus pulling out of international pacts to Save The Planet from Global Warming… Does this guy make you wanna heave, or what?
If the United States endures for another thousand years, it will never live down the shame of having had this schmendrick for its president.
I don’t think it has even registered with him that he is no longer in office.
In all fairness he doesn’t mention patriotism, but nationalism. Perhaps he doesn’t know the difference, as does the author apparently, but they are not the same thing. The irony is that this sort of “aggressive nationalism” as he calls it, is a knee-jerk reaction to his last 8 years of empowering the Left and demonizing the United States. The very same thing he is doing now, from a foreign country no less.
I very much doubt Obama knows what it means to be patriotic, how could he? He was raised by Marxists and Communists, reared in Indonesia, and while most college kids spent their spring break in Florida, he was off to Pakistan. For him the 4th of July is just another Tuesday.
That’s a good distinction to keep in mind.
I always thought the argument over where he was born deflected attention from something just as important: that even though he was most likely born on American soil, he wasn’t raised, and never lived until his teens, either IN America or AS an American. He doesn’t even know what it means (or used to mean, anyway) to be an American.
If you’ve ever seen him trying to throw a baseball, you know for sure he wasn’t raised in America.
Great–we had a president who hates America. Oh, I know liberals will say “That’s crazy–hates America!” But their definition of patriotism usually includes despising one’s country and always rooting for its enemies.
