Let’s Enjoy These Goofy Cats

Honestly, what goes on in cats’ minds? Doesn’t it look like they do these things on purpose? I mean, you’re just sitting there, trying to do your homework… and the next thing you know–well, watch the video. Talk about unexpected interruptions!

  1. Cats actually help us prove that the world is not flat. Were the world flat, cats would have knocked everything off the edge long ago. 🙂

  2. Yes, and they look so nonchalant about it all. Knock over computer parts, medicine, even toddlers. They think they are licensed to do anything their little hearts desire? some are really comical and some… not so much.

  3. That is so true. My cat yelled at me a little while ago, and why? there was a stray cat in the yard and he wanted to let me know and say, “what you gonna do about it?”

    1. That’s your job. He’d have to growl and hiss and risk getting into a fight, you’d just have to clap your hands and the other cat would flee. Your cat is an efficiency expert. 🙂

  4. I’m still laughing! These cats are incorrigible – and so good at it! 🙂 It didn’t seem like the tree, bookcase and television were intentional, but everything else – even the toddlers – well, they sure looked intentional to me. But unharmed and funny.

    1. Some years ago, my tomcat was sprinting from one end of the house to the other. When he got to a counter he jumped up, using a rack of guitars as a stepping stone. Now, as a rule, guitars don’t like falling down and will frequently end up with a broken neck in the process, so I was a bit concerned to see my precious guitars placed at risk. Fortunately, none of them fell over, but I decided to put my guitars back in their cases after that.

This might seem like an endpoint to the story, but it isn’t. I replaced my guitar rack with wall hangers, which is what music stores use. The same tomcat would jump up on a piece of furniture and swat my favorite (and most expensive) guitar against the wall when he wanted my attention. It was deliberate and as well planned as D-Day. Moral: no furniture under the guitar hangers.

    2. Cats are such lovable – and clever – buggeroos lol And he probably didn’t see much point in you giving any attention to some object hanging on the wall. He wanted it all 🙂

    3. He was definitely letting me know something. He didn’t like when I played through and amplifier and would leave the room as soon as he heard my plug guitar. He seemed to have very sensitive hearing and I think it hurt his ears. When I played acoustically he would listen intently, however.

I think that he resented the guitars, perhaps because they drew attention away from him. I know that he hated it when friends came over to play music, but that may have been a volume issue.

Years ago, I had a dog that loved Jazz. When I’d put a Jazz piece on the stereo he would lie down between the speakers and listen to the music. He didn’t lime Country, Rock or Blues, but he loved Jazz.

    4. I had an Amazon Parrot who loved Jimmy Buffet and would dance all around and ‘sing’ with him 🙂

  6. I love the one where the cat knocks the food off the man’s spoon (fork?) —
twice — while he’s trying to eat. All of them are hilarious! Or I suppose they would be if you weren’t the one wiping the mess off the baby’s face, rescuing the goldfish, etc. 🙂
