China Bans… Winnie the Pooh?

Ain’t communism grand? No wonder all our noozies and collidge prefessers want that kind of one-party state in our country.

Chinese censors have banned Winnie the Pooh (http://www.bbc.com/news/blogs-china-blog-40627855). No, this is not a satire. They really have.

Why? To stop bloggers from using pop culture icons, like Pooh, to represent China’s leaders. Because it’s, like, against the law to ridicule China’s leaders.

We would never do that here. We like Winnie the Pooh too much to make him represent Chuck Schumer.

Please don’t forget that it was in the Democrat platform last year to have the Attorney General “investigate Climate Change Denial.” Quick quiz: try to name one Democrat who does not admire the Chinese government’s way of doing things.

    1. Come to think of it, it was almost against the law to criticize President *Batteries Not Included. No one of any prominence could do it without being called a racist.

Liberals and free speech do not mix! And John Stuart Mill is turning over in his grave.

    2. Somewhere, vaguely, in my memory is a nagging thought. Didn’t they outlaw Halloween masks of Oh-Bah-Mah? It could be there was just talk about it and the processor in my brain isn’t as fast as it once was, but I do seem to recall something about that. Your comment brought it to mind.

    3. They didn’t actually make it a criminal offense to wear a *Batteries Not Included mask–but just try wearing one on any collidge campus and see what happens.

  1. In the UK, pictures and figures of Piglet from Winnie-the-Pooh were banned because they offended Muslims.
