Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus, here performed by the Royal Choral Society, is about the best way I know of proclaiming the glory of Our Lord Jesus Christ and His sovereign right to the lordship of heaven and earth. We long for that day when He shall set His throne upon the mountains of the earth, and reign with judgment and with justice, with goodness and with mercy, forever. “The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” –Isaiah 9:7
Wow, they don’t write ’em like that any more! That chorus never grows old.
I had to stand up for this one – Wow!! My all-time favorite! When I was in the choir we sang this one time but it didn’t quite sound as good as the Royal Choral society. It always gives me goose-bumps all over.
I usually save it for Christmas and Easter, but there seemed to be a need for it today.
Anything from Handel’s “Messiah” is a good selection in my book.
