Pets on Parade

They’re all in this video–cats, dogs, hamsters, raccoons–even a feisty monitor lizard. Dig the dog visiting the meerkats at the zoo, and the parakeet figuring out how to tote a new ladder into his cage. Be honest, now: if you’d been creating heaven and earth, would you have thought of animals as pets? God did!

  1. The more I learn about animals, the more I learn about God.

They may not possess the gift of speech, but they are anything but stupid. They obviously understand many things, which is pretty amazing considering the number of man-made things that have on analog in their natural environment.

But it is their guilessness which I find most appealing. They know how to play and even how to snatch an object from your hand and make a game of not letting you have it back, but they don’t know how to lie. While they are not made in God’s image, they are certainly a wonderful reflection of His love and creative genius.

    1. Thank you Linda. I relish the compliment.

Our Creator has given us many wonderful things. The animal kingdom is certainly high on that list.

    2. So true. And they love us without question. May we always return that love through the Creator of us all. Praise and thanksgiving to Him always – for every blessing, and there are more than we can realize.

    3. As Lee is so fond of saying, God’s stuff works. Animals provide a wonderful example for us. They are honest and straightforward. They give us something to love and care for, which, IMO, is one of the most basic human needs.

My house serves as a domicile to a one-human family, but a simple little alleycat makes it a home. She’s lying on my abdomen right now, purring softly and letting me know that this is where I belong. I can’t even begin to express how much I appreciate having her.
