CNN Demonstrates How to Be a Pot-Head

One of the tiresome aspects of my youth was that most of my friends became pot-heads. It made their conversation very tedious to listen to, and gave me a closer acquaintance with pot-smokers than I ever wanted.

And now we’ve had a CNN “reporter,” as part of the nooze network’s New Year’s Eve show, demonstrating how to use a bong.( http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2018/01/video-cnn-reporter-holds-joints-lights-bong-pot-smoker-live-new-years-eve-broadcast/)    If you don’t know what a bong is, lucky you. It’s a device for smoking pot, leading to a steady flow of idiotic statements delivered in either a portentous, oracular tone or else with lots of giggling.

Has “journalism” truly come to this? Yeah, it has.

A nation of pot-heads would be pretty easy to rule. Our leaders can do anything they want, and a perpetually stoned public will never notice. Believe me, I know pot-heads.

At least it will be totally compatible with a modern college education.

  1. “A nation of pot-heads would be pretty easy to rule.” This is exactly what it’s all about. And there’s no shortage of those who want to rule – the world.

    1. It used to be only nuts like Alexander the Great or Pyrrhus wanted to rule the world. Now it’s whole legions of nuts.

    2. Yes. In the history of empires, they are doing the same thing expecting different results.

  2. How low can CNN go?

“A nation of pot-heads would be pretty easy to rule.”

True, I’ve compared it with Soma from Brave New World. You could probably include many of the psychosomatic drugs as well. The Bible refers to it as witchcraft (pharmakia, from where we get the word pharmacy i.e. drugs).

  3. I always stay up to midnight on New Years Eve, and if I am at home I constantly switch the channels to watch all the shows (and see the latest, hottest musical performers I have never heard of before). I saw Anderson Cooper and that Andy guy laughing at the Denver pot party segment, and how Andy wished he could be smoking some pot in NYC if it was only legal there.
How symbolic that at the same time California puts up signs that read “California is a Sanctuary State,” they also have initiated legal use of recreational marijuana.

    1. Do you know what the guy said at the Grateful Dead concert after he ran out of pot? “Gee, this music stinks.”

I wish it weren’t more than a joke, but a lot of entertainment these days seems to be aimed at the stoned. I love certain types of instrumental guitar music from the ’60s and there are a number of contemporary bands creating similar music today. I’ve heard some of these that were repetitive and unimaginative and when I asked I was told that it sounded better if you were stoned. Unbelievable!

    2. A lot of guitar players worship him and I don’t get it. I’ve tried to understand what they saw in him, but it just doesn’t strike me as anything special. People have told me it was because he was the first to do some of those things and I refer them to the band Chicago, because that guitar player did a lot more than Hendrix and did it at the same time as Hendrix.

Ive seen interviews with him on old TV talk shows and that didn’t help my impression of him a bit. He seemed pretty vacuous to me; basically just trying to sound like some far-out hippie. I have better things to do with my time than spend it on that sort of nonsense.

  4. I’m so sad to see the decline of this once great nation blessed more than any nation on this earth. Freedom to be enslaved to drugs isn’t freedom.
This country will truly be enslaved in the Great Tribulation if it doesn’t turn away from this type of behavior. There won’t be drugs available when it hits. Everyone will go cold turkey.
Please please repent and turn to God instead.
    Isaiah 55:7

    1. 2 Peter 2:19 They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption. For whatever overcomes a person, to that he is enslaved.
