By Popular Demand, Marines Sing ‘Days of Elijah’

A lot of you wanted to see and hear this again, and so did I: so here are the U.S. Marines at Camp Pendleton singing Days of Elijah. And as great as this song of praise is, it’s even better with a few lusty “Oo-rahs!” thrown in. Turn up the volume!

It brings to mind a little poem:

Whatever happens, we have got

The U.S. Marines… and they have not!

If your strength is in the Lord, your strength is strength indeed.

  1. “If your strength is in the Lord, your strength is strength indeed.”

And that is the entire point. The mighty Goliath was felled because David came in the strength of the Almighty Jehovah. There is no God like Him and He will vindicated His name and crush His enemies. Our job is to rely on Him and to live according to His ways, which are justice and righteousness.

For some time now, I have been troubled by the various schisms in Christianity, some running quite deep. I’ve prayed that I would be guided in the right path and that others would as well. But I believe with all my heat that when our King, Christ Jesus returns the faithful will put aside their petty differences and come together. Watching these young men singing with such animation and unity helps me to believe that this is possible. I doubt that they all agree on every detail of theology, but they all seem to agree completely that there is no God like Jehovah.

    Amen!

    1. There is no God like Jehovah. HOORAH! and AMEN!

I showed this to my Marine and he said the Marines weren’t doing that when he was in as far as he knew – but he sure wished they would have!

  2. I love this one! In fact, the song has been running through my head all day, ever since you posted the other version — but the one I kept hearing was this one, complete with OO-RAHs. 🙂 It’s good to see all these young men showing such enthusiasm for the Lord, and for defending our Nation.
