You’ll pardon me for indulging in one of my very favorite hymns–Light of the World, by Charles Wesley, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. My path needs some light right now, and I don’t mean maybe.
Please pray for me! Again, I’m not free to give details, but I have more than one family member in grave danger, health-wise, and my livelihood suddenly seems to be on thin ice. And that’s all I want even to mention. Plenty to keep me wide-awake all night.
Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. O Son of God have mercy on me, and help me.
You were remembered in our prayers.
Meditating on the words to this hymn is a good place to start to receive light. Mourning the lost of a loved one takes its toll on our equilibrium. We know God has promised to meet our needs, but it is the wondering how and when that zaps our stamina. I would recommend extra rest and sleep at this time. I have often gone to bed distressed about something and then when I wake up in the morning I have my answer. You and your family are daily in my prayers.
Dear Lord, as we navigate through this journey, we know that You accompany us. We ask that You look upon your servant, Lee, and carry him through those things which seem more burdensome this day. And according to Your Will, lessen his load and ease his heart. In Jesus’ Precious Name we ask. Thank you, Father. Amen
Today I actually felt like I was fighting off a panic attack. Never had one before.
Those rascals are very unpleasant and can make you feel that you are in no way in control of them – or anything else. Jesus protect you. We know that He’s in control!
Amen to your prayer, Linda. I will note the request in my prayer journal and continue to hold you up before the Lord, Lee.
Lee, I pray for you and your family every day, but I’ll step up the prayers now. May the good Lord hold you in His love and carry you safely through the storms. In Jesus’ name, amen.
