There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that it would also be too late for America by now, had Hillary Clinton been elected president in 2016.
But it does look like it’s a bit too late for Western Europe.

I wonder now, three years later, whether I went too far in blaming Muslims. It seems clear to me now that Western Europe has been committing slow and steady cultural suicide–and that Islam is only feeding on the carcass before it’s quite dead.
It is strange, what has happened to Europe. I knew several U.S. Army and Marines who were stationed there during WWII, and they had some strange stories to tell when they came home. At the time, I was too young to give it a whole lot of thought, but I did think the French and English as well as the Germans and some others certainly were odd people, but it has changed a whole lot since then.
I recall hearing a British official speaking on TV and saying, words to the effect that, yes we are being over run, and a lot of us do not like it much, but in the end, it is just easier to lie down and be raped than to be murdered, so we choose the former. That blew me away.
Tell me more, Erlene. My father served in the Pacific, so he never saw Europe. What did your friends think was strange about Europe? I’m very interested.
Please forgive me for tooting my own horn here on your blog, Mr Duigon, but for many years I have written, at dunnasead.co , the strangeness Americans feel living in Germany. (In my case, near Frankfurt.) and the historical background for this oddness, if anyone is interested.

As you can see, I’ve succeeded in putting on my page a link to an item on your page. It only took me several years to learn how to do this.

My dad once told my mother (while they were unaware that I was listening) that in France, they had outhouses on the streets, and not only that, if one
was not available when a man needed it, he just peed out in the open. That one shocked all of us. They also made no secret that they visited prostitutes and talked about it in front of their wives and friends while sitting
at outside tables at restaurants. There were a lot more things like that, some too gross to write. They thought the British were snooty, but did a lot of gross stuff, too. In Germany, old people were treated without respect and were expected to gather wood in wheelbarrows and take it home a long way away, then go sweep the streets and walk long distances to gardens to work all day. The list goes on, but there are some things I heard that I couldn’t believe even as a naïve youngster.

More than once, my aunts went over to Germany to visit our kin in the Old Country. They wouldn’t have told me any lurid tales, because I was too young. Now I can’t ask because everybody’s dead. I wish I could!
I do know that several of our esteemed colleagues here have extensive experience with Europe. I hope they read this and decide to chip in.
