This is to be pitied… and avoided.
You gotta believe your city’s in trouble when the head of its tourist bureau pleads with the city to clean up its act before visitors stop coming altogether.
Here’s what the president of S.F. Travel, San Francisco’s visitors’ bureau, himself a world traveler, has to say about it:
“The streets are filthy. There’s trash everywhere. It’s disgusting… I’ve never seen any other city like this–the homelessness, dirty streets, drug use on the streets, smash-and-grabs” (https://www.sfchronicle.com/news/article/Clean-up-San-Francisco-s-streets-tourist-12839281.php).
Oh, well. At least they’ve got big “gay pride” parades.
Why does this happen to so many cities controlled by Democrats? What is it about their methods that seems to lead inevitably to crime, filth, and squalor?
Like I say: Kill the culture, and it will kill you back.
I have a friend who has visited there a couple of times and come away repulsed. It’s not a nice place these days, according to him, and I believe he’s probably right. As one sows, so will they reap.
My wife & I took a San Francisco vacation in 2000 and in the tourist’s areas it was nice. But in the regular city parts there were beggars all over the place (smoking cigarettes and having cell phones) and they were demanding. I know now it is way worse, with the same thing happening to LA & Orange Counties. Socialism’s making everyone the same means making everyone equally poor and dependent.
