Is California Still Here?

Did they already have the Big Quake, and is California broken off and drifting out to sea? Is that state still part of America?

Last week the California Legislature narrowly voted down a bill to drop George Washington’s birthday or Abraham Lincoln’s birthday as a paid state holiday and replace it with “International Workers Day”–the traditional communist/socialist “May Day.” But the bill did make it through committee and is on the docket for another vote soon. Maybe this time they can push it through.

If you actually need to tell anyone that communism has ever been anything but a pure disaster, you might as well save your breath. No point arguing with a stone.

Gee, I wonder if “International Workers Day” is gonna be part of that big Blue Wave that’s supposed to sweep these left-wing loons back into power over our country.

Pray that doesn’t happen: and work to stop it.

    1. It would be interesting to know what caused it. What makes supposedly civilized, educated people take up Leftism? Who can explain it?

    2. I think you’ve answered your own question, Lee. Leftism is a byproduct of a highly civilized, educated society. They are both well-read and well-fed. It was also true of the ancient Greek philosophers who could sit around all day philosophizing, while the slaves did all the work. Such luxuries can only exist in a “civilized” society. For the rest of humanity, people actually have to work to survive, and didn’t have time for such trivial pursuits.

  1. It is certainly a mystery to me. Why would anyone wish to become a slave? However, when we read the Torah and see all the whining that went on with the slaves delivered from Egypt, amazingly, some wished to return because they preferred the food they had back there. Isn’t that a type of what these nit wits are asking for?

    1. Yup, some people prefer tyranny and slavery because it gives them a false sense of security, and because they will be provided for – even if meagerly.

    1. Yep – the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters. What a claim to fame!
