Here We Go Again! Jurassic World 2

Suddenly the supermarket’s full of Jurassic World 2 tie-ins to Cheetos and Doritos, which means the movie’s coming out, and here’s the trailer.

I am a total sucker for Jurassic Park movies. I shrug off the cliches. I tolerate the illusion of dinosaurs as big as Liechtenstein. And is that Carcharodon megalodon moving in on all those surfers? You’d think a couple of humans would be only the equivalent of two or three Doritos, to a shark that makes “Jaws” look like a guppy. Sheesh, “You’re gonna need a bigger ocean…”

At the very least, these movies provide escape, take my mind off things. They might even give me an idea or two that I can use in my books. Inspiration, of a kind. So of course I’ll want to see it! And eventually I will. But I just can’t be going to a movie theater, dropping $25 just to see a movie, and sitting through a dozen previews and several commercials before anything good happens.

  1. I could have liked the movie as an escape, as you said, Lee, but if it’s anything like the trailer with flashing scenes and flashing blank spots so it’s impossible to follow what’s going on, they can count me out. That seems to be the new thing and it drives me crazy! I just don’t watch.

    1. I hope you’re right because I like this type of movie. King Kong, Mighty Joe Young, Creature From The Black Lagoon, Jurassic Park . . .

    1. Well, he did get less than 2% of the vote when he ran for state legislature. It’s not like there’s a groundswell of support for him.

    2. The very idea that he thinks he’s entitled to not only run for, but hold, a public office (which naturally involves the public trust) is outrageous to me.

    3. That’s in his head, and very few others.
Of course he should be an outcast. But if you’re in a state run by Democrats, that can only happen to you if you read the Bible.

  2. My wife & I will be at the matinee discounted ticket showing of Jurassic World 2, this time watching it in 3-D. When the reruns of the other Jurassic movies are on cable, my wife has them playing as she does her tweeting to save America.

  3. I so enjoy reading about dinosaurs and watching fantastic movies starring T. Rex and other cool ancient reptilians. I read lots of magazine articles and books by several creation-based scientists. Knowing that our Heavenly Father created these magnificent beasts makes them all the more appealing to me. These animals, too, were created to bring Him glory as the Creator-God just as we human beings were but unlike the dinosaurs in their magnifence we weren’t brought out of the ground but formed and shaped out of the dust of the earth with His very own Hands. Made in His Image, our claim to fame.
