It’s true: we don’t always get to see the impact of our work. Sometimes a seed we plant doesn’t sprout for twenty or thirty years. My Bell Mountain books, for instance, would not have been written but for certain conversations and exchanges of letters that R.J. Rushdoony had, some forty years ago.
It can be hard to keep on working when we don’t see the results; so we have to walk by faith, and not by sight. My books are on those display tables Mark talks about: and only God knows what fruit they might bear in future generations.

Oh, no, not me! I was thinking of Cornelius Van Til.
I led an Arkansas Right To Life group for over 20 years. When we started it there were 5 abortion facilities in our State and Bill Clinton was our Governor. Today there is one abortion facility but it is not currently performing abortions because of the latest Supreme Court ruling (they must have access to a medical facility in case their patient is dying). We prayed, wrote our representatives, displayed booths at County Fairs, passed out voter guides, etc. And now we have a Pro-Life Governor and House & Senate, the strongest Pro-life President in American history, and the Supreme Court could be gearing up to overthrow Roe v. Wade. Do you think I am flying high?
