‘All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name’

Such a beautiful summer day as we’re having here today always makes me think of this hymn, All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name, as it was sung by our counselors at Y Camp–outdoor service on a hilltop, with the woods and fields of northern New Jersey spread out in all directions: gorgeous!

Here, indoors, at First-Plymouth Church in Lincoln, Nebraska, we have the same hymn sung by choir and congregation with organ and trumpets to back it up.

  1. This is a great song, and one we sing at our church. Encouraging, uplifting and good to sing.

  2. As I was about to request a hymn – ‘It Is Well With My Soul’ – this short history came up. I’ve heard it before, but for those who haven’t, it’s well worth the 10 minutes and I’m sure I will bless you:

And, Lee, I would like to add this hymn to your request list.

    1. I can hardly bear to contemplate what that man went through. That he should be able to write a hymn afterward is proof of the power of God.
      I’ll post it tomorrow morning.

    2. Thank you, Lee. By the way, that should say “it will bless you”. Apparently my ‘t’ key got stuck 🙂

  3. Today at church we had to sing along to a small piano because our 95 year old organ that has never been rebuilt needs maintenance. It sure made a difference in the singing (people will sing out more to the organ which fills every inch of the sanctuary) but all hailing the power of Jesus’ Name was not diminished.
