Prayer Request: My Sister

The other night my sister, Alice, came home from work at 2:30 in the morning, ate, washed, changed her clothes–and then drove back to her office.

I might get in trouble with her for butting in, but I think I have to request prayers for her. There’s not much left of my family. She’s the youngest. But if she keeps on working like this–and I don’t believe she’ll stop–her health will crash and burn and she’ll never live to be the eldest. I’m not at liberty to provide more details.

Please join me in prayer, everybody. It’s very sorely needed.

O Lord our God! Please intervene in my sister’s life, and save her–lift her out of this dangerous cycle of overwork. Please, Father, let her hear your voice. Please, Lord Jesus, help her. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. We know, Lord God, that sometimes Your intervention is the only thing that can turn a bad situation into a good one. I join my prayer to our concerned brother, Lee, and say amen. We know You are the Lord Who heals us, because your word tells us so. We ask for a miracle in this situation, in Jesus’ holy name.

  2. Father, I also join my prayer for Your intervention in this situation to the others’ and for strength and peace for our brother, Lee. In Jesus’ Precious Name we pray. Thank You, Father. We love You. Amen.

  3. God created us to be workers, but not workaholics. May Alice get in harmony with the movement of the Spirit of God. Good health is a gift to be respected, not abused.

  4. Itโ€™s scary, but work can be encompassing these days and there are lots of employers more than willing to exploit dedicated workers.

    1. I have to plead guilty to a bit of this sort to thing myself. I’m healthy and have a strong heart, but I know that I push myself too hard. Type A personality on steroids.

    2. True. I wish I had some ideas to offer. I have learned to relax, but as I write, I have finished a good part of tomorrow morning’s work and wouldn’t let go until I had. Fortunately, I sleep well most nights.
