Ye have wearied the Lord with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and he delighteth in them… (Malachi 2:17)
You’ve been warned. Yet you take pleasure in those who themselves do evil, and teach and encourage others to do the same.
If you have ears, use ’em now. If you still have a conscience, better start listening to it.
Hear the word of the Lord, and live.
I’ve never been much of a fan of organized religions. Some seem to do good, but others seem to simply line their pockets and preach their stamp of approval on whatever the contributing members want to hear. In the rush to demonstrate their love and acceptance of all, many religious figures seem to forget that it’s God’s judgment which matters and not their own opinions. This is truly contemptible.
If the good wishes and moral judgment of humans were of any merit, we’d already have paradise. Even my own opinions are subject to my character flaws and human limitations. As good I as I may wish to be, were I made absolute monarch of the earth, I would fail to bring about the conditions of God’s Kingdom. All any of us can do is become advocates for God’s rulership.
So I ask you; when you see someone holding a banner which says “Clergy for Choice”, are they advocating for God’s Kingdom, or human dominion?
How many guesses do we need for this?

These are the people Jesus referred to when He said they like the best seats at events, make long prayers in public, and take pride in themselves about all the religious rules they keep that man has made up.
They have their reward.
Do they never read Romans 1? What kind of game do they think they are playing? Proverbs 1:7 would be another good Scripture to read. Sad.
I think a lot of these people may have already been given over to badness. They are on the downhill side of Romans 1.
I don’t know if trendy churchmen ever read the Bible. They may think Romans is a pizza chain.
Yes, Lee, I wouldn’t be surprised. They are the ones God has given over to the delusion, which is what they deserve.
That’s the amazing thing. The very persons claiming to be spiritual leaders are, in some cases, acting as if they had no law whatsoever. When you think about it, God requires little from us. There are biblical laws, but they are not burdensome and are for our own good. God is forgiving and patient, but if we disobey Divine law, we place ourselves at risk for all sorts of consequences.
For example, the moral laws of the Bible are frequently flaunted, even by people claiming to be believers. The risks of unwanted pregnancies have been reduced by modern birth control methods, so some conclude that there is no reason for restraint and that these moral laws are now obsolete.
But look at the fruitage for the last fifty years or so of such permissiveness. There are more abortions, because people are taking greater risks. There are some devastating diseases out there, some of which are incurable. The family has been impacted with more divorce, unwed parents and broken homes than there used to be. But one more thing has occurred; the lack of restraint has led to a rise in “sexual addiction”.
Some people become so hooked on the thrill of illicit behavior that they find it all but impossible to live in a monogamous situation. I see this as a consequence of the immorality of our time. I believe that the potential has always existed for this sort of thing, but the moral restraints of the Bible served as a protection from it happening.
Eventually, if we reject God’s guidance, we will find ourselves given over to badness and climbing out of that can be very difficult. In the course of my life, I have worked for, or with, several people who were highly immoral. In more than one case, cheated on a faithful spouse, at times even openly. Without exception, these individuals have been unhappy, difficult to be around and truly miserable in many aspects of life. They are, to quote Jesus, having their reward in full.
