See, the school has a “policy”–that’s educationese for “no thinking”–that the lowest possible grade you can give is 50: half credit. One of the students was moved to wonder, “Half credit for doing nothing?”
It’s called preparing them for college, where they can get full credit for doing nothing.
Workplaces that have policies as asinine as that soon go out of business. Because no work gets done.
Hey, America, we’re “educating” ourselves to death! Training a whole generation to be wastes of space is not going to turn out well.
Idiots are much more easily controlled than the educated. Control is the goal.
I don’t know: looks to me like they’re doing a great job of controlling the, ahem, educated. And the best part of it is, the educated are still blooming idiots.
That school does believe in zero…not for students but for teachers who do their job right, its zero salary.
Sickening. I’m a soft hearted guy, sometimes to a fault, but I’ve learned that there’s a difference between being kind and being too kind. Giving something, anything, to someone no matter how little effort they put into a projects, is not wise. People value what they earn, not what they are given. A child that struggles, but eventually earns a C is a whole lot better off than a kid that puts in little effort, but is given an A, to “encourage” them.
That’s a recipe for mediocrity. Not to mention it doesn’t prepare them for the real world. In the real world you arn’t given breaks.
I fear for the future. If the Last Days don’t wrap up soon, there will be some sorry times coming as more and more of these damaged young people hit the adult world.
