‘Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken’

The congregation at the church I grew up in used to really belt out this hymn, Glorious Things of Thee Are Spoken. We made the rafters ring. The kids from Fountainview Academy, perhaps with an eye to the stability of their own rafters, sing this hymn outdoors.

  1. Wonderful way to begin the day. Thank you, Lee. As I watched the beginning of this video, it struck me just how young these young people are. The peaceful expressions on their faces struck me, too. God is working.

    1. I had some misgivings about posting this hymn, because the melody is the same as that of the German national anthem, “Deutschland Uber Alles.” But Joseph Haydn composed the music in 1797, before there was a state called “Deutschland” (Germany), so everything’s cool.
