Heidi asked for this one, the first request this morning: God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. I opted for this by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band–there’s something about their 18th-century sound that goes just right with this hymn.

  1. PLEASE! First and foremost in this carol is to spell and pronounce it properly! It is said, “God rest ye merry, Gentlemen!” Not, God rest ye merry Gentlemen! God rest ye merry means (in its antique way), may you be happy/merry in this blessed season.

    1. My problem is that when I try to tag titles on WordPress, it won’t allow me to use a comma. That gets to be a habit. I will now go back and insert the comma.

    2. You don’t have to because it probably doesn’t have a comma in the title. I put the comma in for people to see how it SHOULD BE pronounced.
