Nocturne with Newts (I’m Sick)

Two nights with no sleep at all, plus steady sinus toothache (that’s when all the teeth–yeah, I said all of ’em–on one side of your head hurt all at once), and I’m feeling a bit frayed around the edges. I’m thinking seriously of just going back to bed and hoping sheer fatigue will overcome me.

But first allow me to indulge myself with this nice video of newts swimming around at night in someone’s backyard pond in England. Graceful, aren’t they? There’s something about them that I find very soothing.

Meanwhile, everybody, please pray for me, ask the Lord to lift this affliction from me: in Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus, we are petitioning You to pour out your compassionate healing touch on our friend and brother Lee. We have experienced these very painful times in our bodies, and in them, we know our need is for the healing power that rests only in You. We read in Your Scriptures about the many people who cried out to our Savior as He walked among them. We see no account of His ever turning away one. We know His great love and His limitless power is just as active today as it was in those days. We expect to see a miracle of healing for Lee. We do not believe suffering glorifies You, but miraculous healing does. In the mighty name of the Lord Jesus, we pray. Amen.

  2. I’m so sorry for your pain, your sleepless nights, and your frustration. You are in my prayers. It scares me when you’re not up to your usual self, even though you’re still reading, writing and complaining (about the issues). But Newts? – lol. GO TO BED!

    1. Yes, they are. But take two toddies and call us in the morning. And go to bed, please. I, we, want you to feel better.
