‘Gesu Bambino’ (Pavarotti)

I don’t understand the language, but what does that matter? Pavarotti sings directly to the heart. It would move the heart of a statue. And the message of the hymn, the proclamation that Jesus Christ is born, is the heart’s best nourishment.

  1. He is such a powerful tenor his voice goes straight to God! Thank you for this. I’ve heard it many times, forgot about it, and will now listen to it again, and again. P.S. We went backstage at a Pavarotti concert back in the 70’s and saw him in his girdle. He screamed at us in Italians (which also sounded beautiful) and slammed the door. True story. Many opera stars wear girdles onstage – no big deal.
