This is about the umpteenth time we’ve posted this–Days of Elijah, sung with gusto my a hall full of U.S. Marines. Just because it’s Christmas-time doesn’t mean we can’t have other hymns for all occasions. The Hymn Shop is always open!
Requested by “Unknowable.”
I really like this video! I have been thinking about this song recently.
Thanks Lee. This one means a lot to me. Speaking with soldiers is a daily part of my life and I can state that there are many fine young men and women serving in today’s military and hearing a group of them exclaim “There is no God like Jehovah” makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
I think this might be the most often-requested hymn around here.
I feel the same way, Unknowable. This is a winner every time. It reminds us of the great and awesome power of our God.
The world situation is changing before our very eyes. We are seeing ancient issues come to light and it all seems to come down to whom we worship. That’s why this song so touches me; there’s no doubt about which god these young men worship.
Amen. It is getting harder to find good Christmas songs, but Alan Jackson has some country style songs, and Carroll Roberson, too.
How are you feeling today, Lee?
I seem to be slowly on the mend. Thanks for asking, Erlene.
Here is an idea: Burl Ives singing Silver Bells. don’t think we have heard from him yet.
“Ooooh Rahhhhh!!!”
As a Marine vet this brings back so much memory of boot camp church service (which this took place in). Thanks for sharing Lee
