Do They Do It on Purpose?

Yesterday I heard a noozie say that “only a tiny minority” of Americans want our country’s borders secured against illegal immigration. This was obviously an untrue statement–riotously, flagrantly, boisterously untrue–but he said it anyway, right into the microphone for everyone to hear: thus demonstrating that what you hear as “news” these days has a good chance of being fraudulent.

And I heard a discussion of how fast can we legalize marijuana, and sports betting, and eventually prostitution: as the state leads foolish people into vice and helps them ruin themselves.

I used to think liberals were well-intentioned people who were simply mistaken in their politics. I don’t think that anymore. Not since they started piling San Francisco’s sidewalks with heaps of human feces.

Says I to myself, “Nobody is that stupid! Not even college students. No one can look at what happens to those cities and those countries ruled by ‘progressives’ and call it ‘progress.’ Nobody!”

A few miles down the road from here, we have the city of Perth Amboy. It used to be a sane, prosperous, mostly blue-collar city. My mother sometimes liked to shop Perth Amboy’s stores. We’d go by bus.

But no more. Democrats took over, drove out the prosperity, and the city’s just a mess.

Should they have been astounded, amazed, that the same policies they’ve pursued in all their captive cities have the same result–like, everywhere? Detroit, Camden, San Francisco, Gary, St. Louis–wherever they take hold, the result is the same. And as in cities, so in countries. Venezuela was a reasonably prosperous country, not so long ago. Their leftids took it over and, lo and behold, who woulda thought it, they turned it into a wreck.

It happens every time.

Again, no one can possibly be so stupid as to believe, sincerely, that socialism/liberalism/whatevuh will really work if you just give it a chance, this time it’ll work!

They’ve got to be doing it on purpose.

Why? I don’t know. I don’t think anybody knows. It looks satanic. I don’t know where this tree draws its nourishment, but it sure has ugly, foul-smelling fruit, poisonous to eat. Probably not even safe to touch it.

  1. I used to believe that politics was just hot air; wrangling back and forth with no purpose and I paid little attention to it. But I saw what this country was in the Carter years and what it became in the Reagan years and realized that it was a lot more than just hot air.

Now I see that there is a worldview which accounts for a Creator and a worldview which defies or even denies a Creator, and that is what is really at stake. This is no longer politics, or business, as usual. This is the end-game and Satan is going for the gold. He wants to defile mankind any way he can and is pulling out all the stops, using every trick in his book. We are seeing a return to paganism, to superstition; a return to the Dark Ages themselves.

At this point, I am convinced that this is the spirit of strong delusion mentioned in 2 Thess 2:11 which is sent upon those who refuse to love the truth.

2 Thess 2:3 . . . “For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.”

Actually, all of 2 Thess 2 seems applicable to this very phenomenon. The good news is that this precedes the return of the Lord, Christ Jesus and the deliverance of mankind. It’s sickening to see this happen, but the end result will be that Satan and his minions will be finally and spectacularly revealed for all mankind to see. The Sovereign LORD will be vindicated and Satan will be abyssed.

  2. Leftism is a modern version – taken to extremes – of nominalism. There is no objective reality; whatever I say a thing is, that is what it is. Think of the abortionists who look straight at the baby they’ve torn to bits and are now reassembling to be sure they got all the parts, and who say “That’s not a baby” – and they believe it. Think of the current “trans” fad, where the leftists look straight at a full-grown man with all the male body parts (not to mention masculine DNA) and say “that’s a woman” – and they believe it.

Similarly, they work their leftist magic on a city or nation, look at the destruction that’s happened, and say either “what destruction?” or “it’s the fault of the right-wing fascist haters” – and they believe it.

“Whom the gods would destroy they first drive mad.”

    1. I think that at the very core of this, is a desire to rebel against God’s authority. If one can deny reality, they can deny God Himself, and that’s there real point. Abortion is a prime example. At its surface, abortion is simply a particularly brutal method of birth control, a last resort if an unplanned pregnancy occurs. To persons whom have rejected morality completely, it’s all but irresistible to have this option, but at another level, it goes even further.

One of the strongest instincts humans possess is to protect children. If I see a child in danger or distress, something is triggered very deep within me and I HAVE to help that child. I and everyone else, by the way. But abortion seems to bypass this instinct because there is something else operating and I believe that “something else” to be defiance.

Romans 9:20 tells us “But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, ‘Why have you made me like this?’ “ When someone allows their defiance to alter their behavior to the point that it changes their most basic instincts, they are truly challenging God’s authority to have made them as He saw fit.

    2. God’s unto themselves and no one shall lord it over them. You, OTOH, they are more than happy to lord it over.

  3. Liberals make decisions by how they think the world should work, and not how it actually does. It’s all based on emotionalism. It doesn’t matter if they are good ideas or not, it’s what makes them “feel good” that matters.
