Not to be outdone by the socialist swarm on the East Coast, California’s new governor, Gavin Newsom, says he wants to lay a state tax on drinking water (https://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/Gavin-Newsom-drinking-water-tax-budget-2019-detail-13527647.php).
Among the world’s shortest lists: things Democrats have not proposed to tax.
Minor details–like how much money the tax is intended to raise–have not been revealed. Supposedly this caper is to “help the poor” gain access to clean drinking water, 6 million people in California have water that isn’t safe to drink… Whose fault this is has not been revealed. Apparently it’s everybody’s fault, because according to Newsom, everybody’s gotta pay.
California has for years been trying to tax drinking water. Last year they ran a 95 cents per month tax up the flagpole, but it got shot down in the legislature.
The European Union has a drinking water tax to help Save The Planet From Global Warming. California must be jealous.
California is turning itself into a third-world country locked onto America like a tapeworm.
Politicians don’t represent us. They’re in it for the money. Taxing the air we breathe, the water we drink, whatever sustains us. Maybe even a head tax for each baby that’s born! Wait for it. When democrats smile, they’re really sneering, or high. And yes, liberal California is a parasite.
It’s not just the money. Exerting power over us is a huge rush.
If they’d stop sending all the potable water out to sea to feed the latest “endangered” fish, and build some of the reservoirs that they keep refusing to build, maybe they’d have enough usable water for the human beings.
I don’t think Democrats devote much thought to human beings, except when they try to imitate them.
When was the last time they tried that?
What has happened to California because of their water policies is shocking. I drove the length of The 5 from Oregon to The Valley a few years ago and it was sickening. All sorts of beautiful orchards were gone, dead from thirst.
Gavin Newson, what an empty suit. He promises Californians everything as he holds his little girl in his arms, promises that will leave his daughter with a banana republic state in which to live. Why do people vote these charlatans into office? They are Pied Pipers playing a false tune.
