Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, confronted by a fact

The continuing self-satire that is Far Left Crazy Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has left us with a quote that will be enshrined forever in the hall of idiocy.

Facts don’t matter, Cortez said in a 60 Minutes interview earlier this month–as long as you’re “morally right” (https://hotair.com/archives/2019/01/07/aoc-facts-dont-matter-youre-morally-right/). The exact wording:

“I think there’s [sic] a lot of people more concerned about being precisely, factually, and semantically correct than being morally right.”

Facts are hate speech, anyway. They get in the way of liberalism. Away with facts! We don’t need no stinkin’ facts! Not if we’re morally right.

And how do we know we’re morally right, if we have no facts at our disposal?

“Shut up!” he explained. Libs are always right!

That a civilized country of more than 300 million people would ever consent to be governed by the likes of this–

Words fail me.

  1. The Bolsheviks were very moral people, their own version of morality, that is. Their highest value is “The ends justifies the means.” After WWII Communism was taken very seriously in America, but today it is fashionable. The Left are Communists (maybe not in name) who are pursuing an endless revolution that always ends up in darkness and death. It is Capitalism that re-energized China but their latest leanings of going back to purer communism is leading them back to failure.

  2. Facts and what is “morally right” go hand-in-hand. After all, how can a falsehood be morally right? What she really means is facts shouldn’t trump her feelings. As long as she is doing right in her own eyes then she thinks she is morally right. But that is a slippy slope. Millions died in the last century because of someone’s “good” intentions.

    1. Oh, I think you know what happened to him! Struck down by God and eaten up with worms–Acts 12:20-23. It’s also covered in an “I, Claudius” episode.

    2. The arrogance of some public officials seems to be heading to levels that even Agrippa would have winced at. I don’t have any idea when it will culminate, but I assure you, there is real trouble coming down the pike. It’s like crazy has come back into fashion and there’s no telling where it will lead.

    3. Think of Rep. Hank Johnson (D [of course]-GA) speculating on the possibility that the island of Guam might capsize if more Marines were stationed there.

If Geo. Washington & Co.could have looked into the future and seen the caliber of men and women who would one day govern this country that they were founding, they would’ve given up and gone home.

    4. The unanimity of this ridiculous behavior suggests to me that there is more at play here than simply politics as usual. My guess is something along the lines of what is stated at Revelation 17:17 “For God has put it in their hearts to execute His purpose by having a common purpose, and by giving their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God will be fulfilled.”

The key words here, for the purpose of my thought, are “a common purpose”. The arguments may be jejune, the logic twisted and tortured, but the purpose seems to be very common; to spread mayhem and oppose all order, except that which gives unprecedented levels of power to the Far Left.
