Cozy Cats

See? Cats aren’t aloof and snooty. How did that canard ever get started?

True, they would rather you didn’t read or write. Not when you could be paying attention to them instead. But I’m glad my cats don’t walk on the keyboard while I’m typing.

    1. I know that I can’t. While cats have a reputation for aloofness, they can be very engaged and devoted to the humans in their lives. While I type this, my little Siamese is about six feet away, lying on the floor with her feet tucked under and just sort of watching me. At some point, she’ll jump up on my chair, an oversized recliner, and sit next to me, reclining against my leg. I feel very trusted when that happens. (She just jumped up on my lap.)

    2. As the heavy whose job it’s been to administer assorted medicines, i don’t get cats on my lap anymore. It’s sorely missed.

    3. *sigh* Buster and Missy used to contend for the rights to my lap (they were too big for them both to fit). Sometimes I can catch Peep and put her up there. Robbie, forget it. Too much medicine over too many years. My lap is a dreadful place, as far as they’re concerned.
