I read somewhere that cats have more facial muscles than we have, which probably accounts for the subtlety of their expressions. Some of us have learned to read those expressions rather well. My favorite is the look they get when all their wheels are turning.
Cats really do have some amazing expressions and moves. The beautiful calico in one shot looks like the one who moved in here and spends time in the dog house on the deck, stealing the dog food while her own food sits in the back yard serving the wild birds that are coming in droves now.
They can be so intense in expression. Obviously, that serves many purposes, including entertaining us.
