It would be hard to imagine an animal more benign, more unthreatening, than a sloth. And even if they wanted to do you harm, they’d never be able to catch you.
If you aren’t able to count the claws, it’s still easy to tell the difference between the three-toed sloth and the two-toed sloth. The three-toed has a white mask around its eyes, and the two-toed doesn’t. Much easier to remember than “The pellet with the poison’s in the vessel with the pestle.”
They are little cuties alright. I would never have thought of having one as a pet, but I guess I just thought one would be too difficult to acquire since I had never seen any in the wild where I lived.
Given that they live in tropical rain forests, Idaho is probably out of bounds for them.
They are really endearing little creatures. I’d love to se one in person.
What dear little faces.
Patty has been in love with sloths for many years, but we could never see our way to getting one as a pet. The apartment’s crowded enough without having to install things for a sloth to hand down from, and I doubt the New Jersey climate would suit it.
