For no visible reason, the third and fourth fingers on my right hand are hurting like blazes. I mean jolts of intolerable pain. But there’s nothing to see on the outside, and I can’t remember anything I might have done to cause an injury.
So please make mention of me in your prayers, because this has gone on for several days and it’s starting to wear me down.
And I don’t have much confidence in doctors, after Patty went through all those tests and never got a diagnosis, let alone treatment. But I still trust in prayer.
Prayers ascend for you both as I type. Hope it heals soon (and also that Patty is feeling better).
Please go and have the hand x-rayed (yes, you DO need medical intervention). If there is no broken anything, you may have a pinched nerve and need to brace the hand against movement until the problem cures itself. It’s one thing to be disappointed in not getting a diagnosis, but this doesn’t sound like something that cannot be at least TREATED. Pain indicates that SOMETHING IS WRONG! Ignoring pain doesn’t cure anything.
I used to get similar attacks in the back of my neck when I was in my teens. They stopped when I grew into my twenties. This feels like much the same thing.
Heavenly Father, I lift up to You these needs of our brother Lee. We know that man is limited, but You are unlimited, we know You care for us, and
we are concerned. Yeshua/Jesus is our infallible Healer, and we now ask that this problem cease in Your holy name, amen.
Amen!
Lee, I have Patty in my prayer journal, and I will place your name and need beside her’s and continue to pray for both of you. I know how frustrating it is to need medical care and find it so difficult to obtain. It seems that even when there is a diagnosis, getting treatment or help is next to impossible.
Our God is able.
You are in my prayers, Mr. Duigon.
Prayers sent.
FWIW, I had something similar years ago and it turned out to be impingement syndrome. An old shoulder injury was pinching a nerve in my left arm and causing the problem. A simple operation relieved the problem instantly. Physical therapy might be the starting point. I’d suggest talking to an orthopedic surgeon.
I don’t think I can face more doctors in my life just now.
Come to think of it, some 30 years ago I had a very similar problem in my forearm. I thought I must’ve done myself a mischief, practicing with the bokken. This painful problem hung around for a while and then mysteriously departed.
As others have said, it does sound like a nerve issue. I totally understand not wanting to go to a doctor! I have prayed for you as well.
Also, you have reminded me that it’s been ages since I’ve practiced with a bokken! Gotta get back into that. 🙂
Welcome to the bokken club!
😊😊😊
I pray to Our Lord Jesus to remove the stress from your body, to heal your hand, and to relieve the pain. May God answer the prayers of his faithful and all the prayers from your loving subscribers. In Jesus name, amen.
Amen – and I will pray in agreement with you and the others. In Jesus’ holy name <3 <3
You and Patty are always in my prayers, Lee.
Does heat help the pain any? Does ice? Elevating? Bending? Pulling? Yelling? (Only kidding about the last one.) It does sound like a nerve problem, and yes, some of those disappear as mysteriously as they’ve appeared.
I’ve had similar problems twice in my life, and both times they just went away after a while.
If it would only stop raining…
Sounds like it could be cubital tunnel syndrome. If your elbow is resting on the armchair a lot, it can compress the nerve in the elbow and cause numbness or pain in your pinky and third finger. If this is the case, you could try putting a towel or small pillow under elbow, and there are simple exercises you can do, just look it up on YouTube.
I don’t have an armchair. Nowhere to put my elbow.
Dear God,
With you, all things are possible. You created the earth and heaven and all that is in them. You said to ask and we would receive. We ask today for You to heal Lee’s fingers so they won’t be in the way of all the lovely things he does in Your service.
Amen.
Thanks, Evelyn. I’m not sure God likes everything I write… but He hasn’t told me any different.
i think He would let you know.
I had a carpel tunnel problem in both wrists once. It was resolved by the therapist making a plastic mold support for each hand. I wore them for a while, the problem went away, and never came back.
I don’t know what I have, but I suspect it’s a pinched nerve. Hurts like blazes if I move my hand a certain way.
