Well, Weavingword, you asked for it, so here it is–it’s me, at work. Writing The Wind From Heaven. I’m on Chapter 2. I have a long way to go, to catch Violet Crepuscular.
Pattytook the picture and somehow managed to get it into WordPress Media, or whatever it’s called. I’m sorry you can’t quite see my yellow legal pad, but them’s the breaks. We’re new at this.
And now I’ve got to finish Joe Collidge and see if I can capture a bit more book-writing time.
Pleased to see you mr lee
I think I saw a Jersey Devil bolt across the background. 🙂
There’s only one Jersey Devil, and I get enough distractions without him.
Wow, this is great. Thanks for posting. It is always better when you know who you are communicating with.
Yay! I’m happy to see you, Mr. Duigon!
You look like Obst!!! At least as I imagine him.
Here’s another excerpt request: every time I open my Duolingo language learning app and that crazy green owl mascot blinks at me, I think of the relic that Jack and Ellayne found with the creepy blinking lady. I wish I remembered the book and page number….
I hope I can find it for you…
Gee, thanks.
I was hoping someone would say I looked like a youngish Denzel Washington, or maybe Steve Reeves. But no–I get likened to the ancient hermit in the woods.
(Knew I shouldn’t’ve run that picture!)
Me, too, Heidi! Actually when I read about Obst, I think of Mr. Duigon! Obst is one of my most-loved characters!
I feel older already!
I have been thinking about this recently. How old is Obst?
He was in the woods as a hermit for so long, he completely lost track of his age. Nobody around to give him a birthday party.
I was so happy that he revived at the end of Bell Mountain! I was getting ready to cry…
That’s how I know my books are smarter than I am.
Yay! Thank you. 🙂 It’s good to see you enjoying the great outdoors. Glad that you’re finally able to write again, though how you do it all by hand on a yellow legal pad still amazes me.
The computer is too fast. I can’t compose fiction on the computer. The pen and the legal pad are slow, and they force me to think about what I’m writing.
Obst is one of my favorite characters! Wise, venerable, devout…and getting younger all the time!
He also helped me teach my children German as his name means “fruit” in that language.
More like a Hemingway. Is that a wooden fence in the background that needs mending? That could be symbolic of the State of New Jersey that needs mending (that’s major mending).
Writers are never going to live down that turkey Hemingway…
The property owners seem unable to decide whose fence that is.
