Byron the Quokka here, to announce the winner of our milestone once-in-a-lifetime comment contest! The winner, the reader who posted No. 50,000, which will never happen again, is….trumpets, please!
“Evreilly”! (We know her as Evelyn.) Her comment came in late last night, just as we were packing it in for the day. You can find her comment attached to the post, “My Interview with Lee Strobel”–it’s a great comment, by the way. So Ev wins an official Quokka T-shirt, either in Large (very dark blue) or Extra Large (bright red). All we need from you, mate, is your mailing address: please email it, and tell us your choice of shirts.
Now watch all the comments dry up because the contest is over. I told Lee that wouldn’t happen on my watch, so I’ll have to find some way to keep things hopping.
Yayyyy!!! Wear it in good health, Evelyn!
Well done Evelyn.
Congratulations, Evelyn. Lucky and blessed. Hope you enjoy the prize.
Yay Evelyn!! I know you’ll wear it with pride! ❤
Oh yes, that would be the dark blue, please. Thank you!
I’ve deleted your address to protect you for shysters. After I copied it down, of course!
I’ll mail your Quokka shirt as soon as I can.
Yes, Erlene, I am “lucky and blessed” for sure. I can see that going way back in my life. God has been watching over me for sure! Thank you.
If you can find him, you can hug him.
I’ve copied your address, and I think it would be wise to delete it from here, just so that no shyster will see it.
Thank you, Lee. I trusted that you would do that. (Both of those things.)
All wrapped up and ready to go
Hi Lee, I haven’t been able to find my winning comment attached to any of the Lee Strobel blogs. I’d like to have a copy so I can include it with all my Nobel Prizes, etc.
Bless your heart, Evelyn
Evely, there were 20 comments following “My Interview with Lee Strobel,” and your prize-winning comment was the 20th. I’ve just re-read it, so it really is here.
Found it! Thank you, Lee.
Thank you for all you do to further His Kingdom!
And thank you to all the nice people on your blog who congratulated me. It warms the heart.
Evelyn
Congrats, Ev!
Good on you, Ev!
Thank you, Heidi. I’m trying to remember where “Good on you” came from. Irish maybe? Or was that in the movie Braveheart?
I am Irish by marriage. Parents were French Canadian but we grew up in Waltham, Massachusetts in a very Irish neighborhood – the McLaughlins, Healys, Gilmores, etc. Almost all my friends were Irish. And we went to the “Irish Church” (Catholic) a few blocks away. Then I married the most wonderful Irishman in the world. That’s where I got “Reilly.” He’s with the Lord now, waiting for me.
I think that expression is from Australia if I’m not mistaken. I think I heard it in a movie or two in the old days.
Wow! Congratulations, Ev!!! Enjoy the amazing prize!! 😉 🏆
And congratulations on the 50,000 comments, Mr. Duigon!
Reblogged this on Spread the Word and commented:
And the winner is…
Yes, that’s where it came from – Australia!
Charming.
Congrats, Mr. Lee for hitting the huge 50,000!!!!!!!
Congrats, Ev!!!! You are one lucky winner!
Congratulations Evelyn.
Way to go, Evelyn!! Now, how am I going to tell my wife I didn’t win the T-shirt for her? Maybe Byron can tell us where we can buy a Quokka T-shirt.
amazon.com has a wide selection of quokka shirts
Congrats
