I’m running late today because we have to get ready for Thanksgiving, which means finding time for extra shopping.
My sister has, thank God, quit that crazy job she had, the one featuring no holidays all year, so last year we didn’t get together for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or even New Year’s. But now she’ll be home, so we will have a family dinner. The only drawback will be a couple of hours on the Garden State Parkway, beloved of kamikaze motorists.
Friday we can relax with our own small turkey dinner and Godzilla vs. Megalon. We’ve had that movie as a household tradition for so long, I forget how it started. How do things like that get started?
We’ll continue providing blog service as best we can, and I hope most of you can drop in for a few minutes and say hello.
I’m sure I can stop in, since my son and I will not be have company, not going anywhere, not having a big dinner. He is on a restricted diet, food doesn’t excite me that much any more. I cooked the big dinners for 62 years and that is about enough. That will leave more time for just relaxation and maybe some reading and a movie. yah!
You can always watch “Godzilla vs. Megalon.” I find it nicely flushes the brain.
I’ll consider that. I usually don’t control the TV though. I might suggest it.
Thanksgiving is a great national holiday – may we all be blessed as we bless the Lord with all our soul.
Amen. We have so much to be grateful for. No matter how weak we are and how we fail, our God is merciful.
He has to be, or there wouldn’t be any of us left.
I think we need to combine Thanksgiving and Christmas so we only have to do this once a year.
Nah… it’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it.
